Guess we should start saving now

Tonight Scarlett told me she was getting married.

"Really?" I asked. "Who will you marry?"

"Caroline," she said. "We got married last night."

I have no idea where "married" came from, but it sure caught me off guard. I suppose it's not the time to explain that our government doesn't allow same sex marriages.
